BUILDING CONNECTIONS

Dr.Georgia Ede
With my teacher and author of Change Your Diet, Change Your Mind.

Dr. Ede is an internationally recognized psychiatrist and expert in nutritional and metabolic psychiatry. She developed the first and only medically accredited Ketogenic Diets for Mental Health Clinician Training Program, in which she teaches practitioners of all backgrounds how to safely incorporate metabolic therapies into their care of people with psychiatric conditions.

Dr. Chris Palmer
Meeting Dr.Chris Palmer at Ellenhorn's Metabolic Psychiatry Conference in Boston.

Dr. Palmer is a Harvard psychiatrist and researcher working at the interface of metabolism and mental health. His book, Brain Energy, presents the first comprehensive theory of what causes mental illness, integrating decades of clinical, neuroscience, and metabolic research into one unifying theory.

Inner Compass Initiative Conference
Honoured to stand alongside these fierce advocates of Metabolic Psychiatry at the Inner Compass Initiative conference, The Future of Mental Health in America, as we work together to chart a new path forward beyond the current limits of today’s mental health system.
From left to right: Jan Ellison Baszucki, Natasha Smikles, Lauren Kennedy West, Janet Ebos, and Nicole Laurent.

Metabolic Collective
Our Metabolic Collective team at one of our early strategic planning meetings in San Diego.

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness and access to metabolic therapies for neurological and psychiatric conditions.

Dr. Iain Campbell
Lovely chat with Dr. Campbell from the University of Edinburgh at the pre-meeting of the Society of Biological Psychiatrists. He is one of the few scientists in the world researching bipolar disorder, who also lives with the condition.

The Cholesterol Code
The Cholesterol Code is a feature-length documentary and the brainchild of engineer Dave Feldman, who became curious after his LDL cholesterol spiked on a ketogenic diet.

Pictured here with my partner, Brian, at the private screening - we laughed, we cried, we cheered.

If you are afraid of high LDL, especially if on a ketogenic diet, fear no more. The research is out.

Nicole Laurent & Hannah Warren
A walk with friends along the pier in San Diego at the Symposium for Metabolic Health where both Nicole & Hannah presented.

You can find a wealth of educational resources on Nicole Laurent's website, Mental Health Keto. Hannah Warren is the Mental Health Communications and Advocacy Manager for Metabolic Mind.

Robyn Dobbins
My colleague at Metabolic Collective, Robyn, is a tireless advocate for achieving mental health remission through metabolic therapies. Her journey to wellness began with Vinnie Tortorich's NSNG® (No Sugar, No Grains) approach, which yielded remarkable success in her recovery.

You can hear her story on Bipolarcast.

Dr. Anthony Chaffee
Just a little discussion on cancer with Dr. Chaffee, an American medical doctor specializing in neurosurgery and one of the speakers at the Symposium for Metabolic Health.

His research centres around the optimal nutrition for human performance and health. It is his assertion that most of the so-called chronic diseases are caused by the food we eat, or don’t eat, and can be reversed with dietary changes to a species specific diet.

Metabolic Psychiatry Conference
Sitting with some of the greats in the Metabolic Psychiatry movement.
Dr. Chris Palmer, Beth Zupec-Kania, Nicole Laurent, Hannah Warren, Dr. Lori Calabrese, Kit Keyser, Jessica Wunder, and Claire Cesta
